FriDoll Five: Protecting Your Doll

1. Do you own resin ball-joint dolls or vinyl fashion dolls? Approximately how long have you had them?
I have Bleeding Edge Goths - BeGoths - which are vinyl fashion dolls. I got my first one... A few years ago now, and she was from the first wave of the dolls. I didn't start collecting them until the line was discontinued sooo... Yeah, probably a bit older than I can currently think of.

2. Have you ever noticed the doll's body or face changing color for any reason?
Well the older BeGoths vinyl has been said to yellow due from age but honestly I've not had any experience of this at the time of writing. Being in a more temperate country probably helps, it's never really very hot or very cold here. We get all the seasons in one day. Scotland.

3. Do you take any steps to protect your doll from color-changing, or potential color-changing?
Apart from keeping them away from the window? No, not really? As time progresses, the chemicals in the compostion of the material the dolls are made from are going to change and colour changing is just evidence of that reaction. It can be held back but it can't be prevented.

4. Have you ever noticed your doll being "stained" by colored fabrics or plastics?
Again: BeGoths. Lots of dark fabrics, so they tend to have some staining on them. Weirdly, it's never actually been all that bad for mine...

5. Do you take any precautions to prevent your doll from staining?
See answer for question three.
